As five companies prepared to move into a shared campus, I led a cross-functional initiative to define the future employee experience and translate it into actionable technological and system requirements. This tech-spec experience blueprint was to be the base of a RFP from potential technology and implementation vendors.

Shared campus, new vision.

Collaborating with enterprise stakeholders such as VPs, IT, HR, Ops, Cyber and Security leaders from five different orgs, together with Microsoft Solution Architects, we defined what great employee interactions should look like - across the digital and physical layers of a smart campus.

Envisioning experiences.

To reach a shared vision, we had to align goals and define key employee personas representing all employee types. We planned and facilitated envisioning workshops with execs from different divisions from all five companies. By co-creating, we prioritized smart campus use cases, ensuring relevance, and buy in from all functions.

Main personas and journeys.

Mapping campus journeys and daily interaction flows for each of the key employee personas, entailing core needs and high-value opportunities. We created an overview of experiences built out of use cases, which helped us define the digital interactions, features and functions that are required within the campus.

I authored a consolidated requirements document detailing user stories, tech specs, design needs, and expected value for each use case.

Created graphic storyboards to visualize high-impact future experiences, and help align exec stakeholders before vendor selection.

Experience blueprint.

The process resulted in a RFP from tech vendors, that was based on the comprehensive experience blueprint. The blueprint was the core document that bridged organizational silos, and laid the groundwork for the future smart campus interactions. The Discount Group smart campus opened its doors to employees in the summer of 2023.
